la Nuit des sans-abri vernissage
Residents' Artwork Featured in Our Harbour Vernissage
On October 15th, Our Harbour hosted a vernissage on the theme of "Homelessness: Beyond Appearances" in concert with La Nuit des sans-abri & Réseau Solidarité Itinérance du Québec.
Food and refreshments complemented the fine artwork produced by residents over the past few months through our Art Class. Examples of the artwork on display appear above.
A number of representatives from both the RSIQ and Table Itinerance Rive Sud (TIRS) joined us and were impressed by the community spirit and warm welcome from residents, volunteers and the team. They loved the Clubhouse, and, of course, the art!
TIRS provided $500 of prize money, which was shared among the Our Harbour artists in the form of gift cards to a variety of stores and restaurants, plus $250 for refreshments and decoration. Thanks to Jody and the OH cooking group for the delicious refreshments! Hats off to Chloe, Tanya and Ema for putting everything together for Our Harbour's first-time participation in this broad-based community event! Bravo team!
